Salary Package
The successful candidate will receive an all-inclusive annual salary of R849,702 (Level 11), which encompasses a basic salary and a flexible portion that can be tailored according to applicable guidelines. Candidates will be required to sign a performance agreement and an employment contract.
Location
This position is based at the National Office in Pretoria.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- An accredited three-year degree in Supply Chain Management, Public Procurement, Logistics, or a Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain Management.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain and Asset Management at the Assistant Director level.
Knowledge and Skills
Candidates should possess:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Supply Chain Management and Asset Management.
- A solid understanding of financial management and relevant procedures and regulations, including the PFMA, PPPFA, Treasury Regulations, GIAMA, and SCM practice notes.
- Proficiency in LOGIS and BAS, along with a background in Accounting Provisioning Administration.

- Ability to manage staff and draft policies and reports.
- Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Director will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing supply chain and asset management systems.
- Monitoring the performance of bid committees and managing the demand management process.
- Conducting market and industry analysis, identifying procurement methods, and ensuring compliance with preferential procurement policies.
- Managing logistics operations, including inventory management and stocktaking.
- Developing disposal plans and preparing reports on supply chain and asset management for stakeholders.
- Overseeing the implementation of SCM performance systems and conducting quarterly SCM risk assessments.
- Developing strategic asset management plans in line with departmental strategy and budget allocations.
- Maintaining the assets register and managing the acquisition and verification processes.
- Overseeing contracts and supplier performance, as well as managing travel and accommodation arrangements for the department.
Additional Information
Candidates will utilize BAS for financial reporting, LOGIS for procurement and stock control, and Vulindlela for monitoring expenditures and liabilities. The role also involves coordinating personnel performance and productivity tasks.
