Career Opportunity: Financial Management Supervisor

Salary Package

The successful candidate will receive an annual salary of R444,036 (Level 09).

Location

This position is based at the National Office in Pretoria.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in financial management at NQF Level 7.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a financial management environment.

Knowledge and Skills

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • A solid understanding of human resources management functions.
  • Familiarity with constitutional, legal, and institutional frameworks governing the public sector.
  • Knowledge of policy development processes and the current government’s policies.
  • Expertise in strategy development, management, and monitoring.
  • Understanding of financial management processes and norms, including the Public Finance Management ActNational Treasury Regulations, and related directives.

Essential skills include:

  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Presentation and project management skills.
  • Advanced analytical and financial management capabilities.
  • Excellent planning and organizing abilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Management Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Planning, coordinating, reviewing, analyzing, and ensuring the quality of financial supporting information for planning purposes.
  • Overseeing the preparation and consultation for the MTEF budget process and ensuring alignment with strategic and annual performance plans.
  • Analyzing cash flow requirements and making recommendations based on Treasury guidelines.
  • Supervising the adjustment estimates process and monitoring budget shifts and virements.
  • Coordinating management accounting reporting processes, evaluating monthly reports, and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Compiling information for interim and annual performance reports.
  • Managing operational processes related to management accounting, including developing departmental policies, allocating duties, and monitoring employee performance.
